One More Full-Length Trailer for Pixar’s ‘Cars 3’ Focuses on the Rivalry

Cars 3 Trailer

“You have no idea what a pleasure it is to finally beat you… Enjoy your retirement.” DIsney-Pixar has released another new full-length trailer for Pixar’s sequel Cars 3. From all the other trailers we’ve already seen, we know the story is about Lightning McQueen dealing with being beaten by younger, more high tech racers. This trailer features more footage of rival racer Jackson Storm (voiced by Armie Hammer) and some of the goofy antics (including a VR scene) that Lightning gets into trying to get back to being the best. Owen Wilson returns as McQueen, with a fun voice cast including Armie Hammer, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub, Katherine Helmond, and Paul Dooley. This actually looks better than expected, but perhaps that’s because I don’t hate this franchise as much as some other film fans do. Rev things up below. ›››

Lightning Strikes Back in Full-Length Trailer for Pixar’s Sequel ‘Cars 3’

Cars 3 Trailer

“I’m sorry. Your racing days are coming to an end…” Disney & Pixar have unveiled the new official trailer for Cars 3, the next sequel from Pixar (before we get an original music from the animation company later this year). Pixar’s Cars 3 continues the story following racecar Lightning McQueen, who is now being beaten by younger, more high tech racers. Like any good “old guy” sports movie, he has to go back and work from the ground up again, including spending some time in a Monster Truck arena. Owen Wilson returns as McQueen, with a fun voice cast including Armie Hammer, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub, Katherine Helmond, and Paul Dooley. I know everyone loves to hate these movies, but there’s actually a charming side to them. This looks like it may actually be worth seeing. Pixar movies are always better than the trailers. ›››

Second Teaser for Pixar’s ‘Coco’ is a Fun Short Titled ‘Dante’s Lunch’

Dante's Lunch Short Film

Adorable! Disney has revealed another lovely teaser trailer for Pixar’s Coco, the first musical from Pixar, arriving in theaters later this year (see the first teaser here). This teaser trailer is a bit unique – it’s actually a fun short film titled Dante’s Lunch, focusing entirely on the dog from the movie. This reminds me of the Scrat short teaser videos that Blue Sky uses to tease their Ice Age movies. Dante is a breed of dog called the Xoloitzcuintle, or “Xolo”, better known as the Mexican hairless dog, and he befriends the boy named Miguel in the movie following him to the land of the dead. I love that we’re getting another Pixar movie that has a dog as one of the main characters, so I’m totally into this already, even if this isn’t my favorite teaser. Enjoy. ›››

Must Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Pixar’s First Musical Titled ‘Coco’

Pixar's Coco Trailer

“The music – it’s not just in me, it IS me.” Disney has debuted the first official teaser trailer for Pixar’s new movie, a musical titled Coco, based around the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. We don’t know much about the plot, but as you can see, it involves a young boy getting lost in the world of the dead while searching for his father. The voice cast includes newcomer Anthony Gonzalez playing Miguel, along with Benjamin Bratt, Gael Garcia Bernal, Renee Victor. As our initial introduction to this original movie from Pixar, this is quite wonderful. I love that we’re getting a new Pixar movie that has a dog as a sidekick. Beyond that, it looks like it has the emotion of Monsters Inc in a Mexican musical, and I’m excited already. ›››

Watch: Learn How Pixar Makes Animated Movies with Khan Academy

How Pixar Makes Movies

“You’ll meet artists, scientists, animators, coders, sculptors, all kinds of different people.” This is totally wonderful. Khan Academy has partnered with Pixar to launch a new instructional series titled “Pixar in a Box“. The idea is to launch an intensive course to teach people how to make computer animated movies like Pixar, teaching the entire process. To announce the series, Pixar made a video that explains step-by-step how they make a movie. It’s one of the most exciting and impressive inside looks at the studio that I’ve ever seen, breaking down every last part of the process. This seriously makes me wish I worked for Pixar, what a dream. But that’s the point! They want you to realize that dream can come true, you need to start learning. For now, watch this and discover what it takes to create a feature animated film. There’s so much involved. ›››

Fun Disney Video Connecting the Easter Eggs in All of Pixar’s Movies

Pixar Easter Eggs

“Oh my spurs! You ain’t never seen Easter eggs like these, partner.” Disney has posted a new video on the official Toy Story Facebook page that highlights all of the hidden references in Pixar’s movies. Pixar always hides a character from their next movie in each new movie, and this video shows each one of those – starting with Finding Dory. Some other websites are claiming this means the Pixar movies do share a “connected universe”, but that’s complete nonsense. This is just a fun video showing Pixar’s Easter Eggs that finally reveals all of them and connects them to the previous movie. And now I want to go watch all of these again. ›››

Cars 3 Trailer 3

It’s not over until Lightning strikes. Disney-Pixar have revealed a new 90-second sneak preview trailer for Cars 3, the latest sequel from Pixar arriving in theaters this summer. We’ve already seen one attention-grabbing trailer and an intro to the villains, but this trailer finally show part of the story. Lightning has to figure out how to make a big comeback after a disastrous crash, along with new high tech race cars making him obsolete. Owen Wilson returns as McQueen, with a voice cast including Armie Hammer, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub, Katherine Helmond, and Paul Dooley. I have to say it – this looks damn good, I’m seriously looking forward to this. Might be better than we’re all expecting. “I’m coming for you, Storm.” ›››

Watch: Second Teaser Trailer for Pixar’s ‘Cars 3’ Introduces a Villain

Cars 3 Teaser Trailer

Meet the hot, young racers that Lightning is going up against. Disney has released a fun new teaser trailer for Pixar’s Cars 3, introducing two of the new villains in the upcoming sequel hitting theaters this summer. The racecar Lightning McQueen, voiced by Owen Wilson, is back again and this time he must prove he’s still relevant when a “new generation of blazing-fast racers” threatens to push him out. The very first teaser trailer was quite dramatic – showing a big crash about to happen. The two new bad boy cars include Jackson Storm, voiced by Armie Hammer, and Cruz Ramirez, voiced by Cristela Alonzo – revealed by EW.com. Both of them get short little video introductions in this fun teaser. I’m still waiting to see more real footage. ›››

First Look: Meet Miguel from Pixar’s Day of the Dead Musical ‘Coco’

Coco First Look Photo

Is this Pixar’s first musical? Yes, but not quite. EW.com has debuted a first look photo from Pixar’s Coco, their next big original movie coming out in 2017 (the other one Pixar is releasing is Cars 3). Coco is a film set around the Mexican holiday the Day of the Dead (or Dia de Muertos), and is about a young boy. In the photo, we can see him holding a guitar playing a song while some colorful confetti kicks up around him. Anthony Gonzalez voices Miguel, and the all-Latino voice cast includes Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt and Renee Victor. Coco isn’t exactly “a break-out-into-song musical,” but rather, one “set against the backdrop of musical performance.” Reminds me of the fantastic Kubo and the Two Strings. See below. ›››

Must Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Pixar’s ‘Cars 3’ is a Bit Different

Pixar's Cars 3 Trailer

“From this moment everything will change…” Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Pixar’s Cars 3, which is playing in front of Disney’s Moana opening in theaters this week. Cars 3 is the latest sequel in the Cars series, which is extremely popular with kids, but generally disliked by adults. The racecar Lightning McQueen, voiced by Owen Wilson, is back again and this time he must prove he’s still relevant when a “new generation of blazing-fast racers” threatens to push him out. I had heard this teaser trailer might be different, and it definitely is. Don’t skip this without giving it a watch, as you might be more interested than you’re expecting to be. It almost feels like this is a teaser trailer for a new Christopher Nolan movie. I dig it. ›››
