Trailer for Horror Comedy ‘Another Evil’ About a Ghost Exterminator

Another Evil Trailer

“Meet Os. A Straight Up Ghost Assassin.” Dark Sky Films has released a trailer for a horror comedy titled Another Evil, about a wacky ghost exterminator named Os who is hired to get rid of a ghost in a summer home. Steve Zissis (from “Togetherness”) stars as Dan, the guy who moves into his family’s vacation home and encounters a ghost. The cast includes Jennifer Irwin, Mark Proksch as Os, Dan Bakkedahl, Dax Flame, Steve Little, and Mariko Munro. This looks very fun, I’m glad that we finally get to see another comedic take on haunted house and ghost exterminators (one of the only other ones I can think of is The Frighteners). It feels like this would be a nice double feature with What We Do in the Shadows. Have fun. ›››

Must Watch: Totally Awesome Horror Comedy Short Film ‘Spooky Club’

Spooky Club Short Film

Spooky Club rules!! This is one of my favorite shorts we’ve discovered this month. Spooky Club is a horror comedy short film made by filmmaker brothers Joe and Lloyd Stas, about a “Spooky Club” group of friends. The short was released today in memory of horror icon Vincent Price, who died 23 years ago today. The Spooky Club recruits a new member and decides to go retrieve Price’s stolen skull to cremate it just like he wanted. This is really just a totally awesome short – from the way it starts out, to the goofiness of it and the wacky mission to steal Price’s skull, to the rock ‘n roll vibe of the whole thing. I love the performances from the actors; it’s funny, it’s witty, and it’s a perfect horror short film to put you in the Halloween mood. Enjoy. ›››

Funny Short Film ‘Otherhalf’ About a Man Breaking Up with Himself

Otherhalf Short Film

“I don’t know, I guess we’ve been drifting apart for a while… I’m more of a homebody, and my other half’s more outdoorsy…” Framestore Pictures has released an amusing short film called Otherhalf, from writer & director Ben West, who usually does commercials work for Framestore. Starring Eric Normington and Jayme Lynn Evans, the short is about a man who breaks up with the “other half” of his body, but through his experience finds out more about what makes him whole. Aside from being funny, this is actually kind of a charming short with an honest side. And it’s completely original – I’ve never seen anything like this. Enjoy. ›››

Watch This: Comedic Short ‘Life’s a Bitch’ Directed by François Jaros

Life's a Bitch Short Film

Life’s a bitch. Yes it is. This amusing must see short film is from French director François Jaros and it first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival in 2014. It’s a comedic look at how great and how terrible life is, covering all the ups and downs of one man’s adulthood in just over 5 minutes. Life’s a Bitch isn’t the most creative short film I’ve ever seen, but it is genuinely funny and considerably authentic. The main guy in this, played by Guillaume Lambert, also wrote the screenplay. If you need a reminder that life isn’t always perfect every single day, or if you just need a good laugh, then fire it up below. ›››

Watch: Fantastic Fest Trailer for New Zealand Comedy Series ‘Terry Teo’

Terry Teo Trailer

“In 2016, danger has a new name.” We’re breaking our own rules to bring you a trailer for a TV series, but this deserves the attention. Terry Teo is a 2016 reboot of a vintage 80’s TV show from New Zealand, this version directed by the guy who made the film Housebound. The show stars Kahn Wes as the titular “Terry Teo”, a “savvy teenager” who uses his street smarts to solve crime. This looks way better than it sounds, and the humor is spot on. The other reason we’re featuring this is that it’s actually premiering (in the US) at one of our favorite festivals – Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX. If you’ve enjoyed any of films by Taika Waititi, then you need to take a look at this. The series is actually rated PG in New Zealand but it still looks like crazy fun. ›››

Find Out What Thor Was Up to During ‘Civil War’ in Comic-Con Video

Thor Comic-Con Video

“So, I needed some ‘me’ time, and I came to Australia and that’s when I moved in with Daryl!” This is genius. Marvel Studios has officially released the hilarious video that first debuted in Hall H at Comic-Con this year showing what Thor was up to during Captain America: Civil War. If you saw that film, you may have noticed Thor was missing from action while things were getting crazy. To answer that question, they made this “The Office”-style video featuring Chris Hemsworth in character as Thor discussing his time hanging out with regular people down in Australia. He even meets up with Mark Ruffalo (aka Bruce Banner) at one point and tries to get in touch with Tony Stark via “electronic letter”. Gotta love this. Enjoy. ›››

Another Trailer for Hilariously Vulgar Indie Comedy ‘War on Everyone’

War on Everyone Trailer

“Utterly irresponsible.” A new UK trailer has debuted for the absurd, vulgar and hilarious indie comedy War on Everyone, from Calvary director John Michael McDonagh. We featured a red band teaser trailer for this a few months ago, but it didn’t fully dive into the humor the way this new trailer does. Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Peña star as two corrupt cops from New Mexico who end up battling against a British Lord, played by Theo James, who comes to town for his own piece of the pie. This is one of those wild indie comedies that arrived out of nowhere and will earn a huge cult following, so jump on it now before everyone else discovers it. And don’t worry, this is definitely R-rated and totally worth seeing.Enjoy. ›››

Watch: Theatrical US Trailer for Danish Comedy Sequel ‘Klown Forever’

Klown Forever Trailer

“You don’t know where its tongue’s been.” Drafthouse Films has unveiled the full theatrical US trailer for the film Klown Forever, the sequel to Danish comedy Klovn: The Movie about two awkward friends who go on a canoe trip together. This next one reunites co-stars and best friends Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam, who take a trip to Los Angeles this time around to seek fame and glory in Hollywood. Casper decides to pursue a solo career in the City of Angels, but Frank follows along in hopes of getting his friend back, and of course there’s tons of shenanigans along the way. You know this is solid since Drafthouse Films is releasing it, though it might also be good to catch up with the first Klown before continuing on. Have fun. ›››

Watch: New 2016 Trailer for Ensemble Heist Comedy ‘Masterminds’

Masterminds Trailer

“How hard can it be? You load up a truck, and you drive away.” Relativity has debuted a new 2016 trailer for the comedy Masterminds, from the director of Napoleon Dynamite – Jared Hess. Most will remember hearing about this before, as it was originally scheduled to be released last year, and we even ran two trailers for it (which were removed) before Relativity pulled it from the schedule. It’s now set to open in theaters this fall – though I’m not sure if any new marketing will help. Zach Galifianakis & Kristen Wiig star as a couple who plan a heist that goes right, and they end up with $17 million with their friends Owen Wilson, Ken Marino and Devin Ratray. But once they get the money, things start to fall apart. Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Jones & Kate McKinnon also star. This is supposed to be funny in a stupid way, but it looks dull. ›››

One Epic Party Gets Out of Hand in First ‘Office Christmas Party’ Trailer

Office Christmas Party Trailer

“Hey Santa! Wanna party?” Paramount has debuted a trailer for the comedy called Office Christmas Party, perhaps the most basic and blatantly descriptive title for a film this year. It’s about, as expected, an office Christmas party that gets out of hand. T.J. Miller organizes the whole shebang, with an ensemble cast including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Vanessa Bayer, Jillian Bell, Jamie Chung, Rob Corddry, Abbey Lee, Kate McKinnon, Olivia Munn, Karan Soni and Matt Walsh. This is one of those party movies where it’s all about how totally crazy they can get, and what happens during/after the madness. Not sure there’s much else to this, maybe it will be fun to watch during a snowstorm or something. ›››
